Hi I'm new to the Hackintosh community. I have a MSI Z77 MPower motherboard and R9 290X. Works good, but I have to use iGPU to boot into Sierra.

If I ever end up buying an Nvidia card, like a 1070 or 1080, will I be able to avoid iGPU? In my experience, the display that uses iGPU HDMI cable has poor performance. I have it plugged in just to boot, then switch that monitor to the DVI port. I would like to eventually run 3 screens and not have iGPU enabled.

Buy a cheap Nvidia 240GT or something old and plug it into another PCIe on the mobo then boot off that. Bonus is that you can run even more than 3 displays if the fancy takes you.
