is the gt 740 4gb gddr5 fully supported on mavericks?

Thanks for the reply. I saw on the buyer's advice that shows the gt 740 1gb gddr5 but I was interested in the 4gb gddr5 instead so I can make sure it will work before I buy it.

Hello,

I wanted to bump this thread to see if anyone else has any additional input or experience to share...
The 2GB card below is recommended on our Buyer's Guide as a natively supported graphics card (as opposed to alternative).

My question is whether I can natively use the 4GB card below in the same fashion? I want to stay away from anything experimental or considered alternative at this point.

Running Yosemite btw

The answer comes down to the Architecture of the NVIDIA GPU. Essentially, were comparing Kepler Architectures vs Maxwell Architectures. (Also consider if your power supply is sufficient for the card.)

Maxwell = Not Native
Kepler = Native
GeForce 740 = Kepler = Native

UPDATE: I went ahead and ordered this exact model and it works perfectly.
Although I needed to update my mobo's BIOS and reset the CMOS battery in order to fix a issue pertaining to the behavior of Sleep (it would immediately wake from sleep). After that my mobo and dual boot system recognized my newly installed Graphics Card (previously integrated HD4000).
