Thank you very much for any and all helpful information, TonyMacX86 is an awesome resource that I've enjoyed gathering information from, but I've decided to sign up and get more involved as I'm going to begin attempting to run MacOS on my recently-built desktop. I'm also using a z270x board which is in the early adopter stage for Hackintosh, and will report back on my success/failure. Feeling confident though, as I know several others have accomplished this. I know I'll need to use some fake CPU IDs to trick the OS into thinking my 7700k is a 6700k, and I have yet to really develop a good understanding of what 'kexts' are used for but getting there. Thanks a lot!
Here is my hardware list (with too much extra information, I'm sure):
RAM: GSkill Trident Z RGB running on "XMP Profile 1" @ default speed of 3000mhz (default for the board is apparently 2166)
CPU: Intel 7700k (4.2 ghz is fine, not worried about overclocking for now)
GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 SC
Mobo: Gigabyte z270x Gaming 7 (problems with the F3 BIOS on this board supplying too much voltage to the CPU, updated to F4 and now voltage has decreased from 1.4~ to around 1.3, much more stable and temps around 30-40C most of the time. If you have a recent Gigabyte mobo, this is good information to have)
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 256GB (also have two other drives running, an Intel 600p NVMe 500gb and a 1tb WD blue 7200RPM, not planning to use either of these for MacOS but not sure if having other drives plugged in will be an issue)
Appreciate the help!
