Hello guys.

I'm quite new into Hackintosh but I'm very experienced with computers and IT itself. I've bought a new computer and I would like to get Mac OSX so I can use Logic Pro 9 or X, so I would like to ask you the experienced guys if this build is compatible...

Asus Z87-A
Intel i7 4770k 3.5 GHZ
CORSAIR PC3-12800 1600MHZ 8GB VENGEANCE LP BLACK PRO CL9 (2X4GB) DDR3
XFX PRO550W CORE EDITION
Sapphire Radeon 4870 DDR5 1GB (or Intel HD Graphics 4600 - i7 onboard)
+ WD Sata 3 500 GB HDD
+ Maxtor Sata 2 250 GB HDD

That's my build, is everything okay and ready to go for Mac? :D

Cheers.

Yes, it will work just fine, but don't try installing anything older than 10.8.5 because the kernel needs to have support for Intel Haswell CPUs.

There's another thread with confirmed success on that motherboard: http://goo.gl/Q5wTPs
The kext for your onboard NIC: http://goo.gl/0nrBvF

Also, if you plan on using the machine for Logic only, you don't need that discrete card - Intel HD 4600 should be more than enough.
That way your machine will be much quieter and will consume less power.

Good luck.

Thanks a lot for the help.
I'll go with the Mountain Lion, as because the Mavericks apparently is still in beta.

Once again, thanks for the help. Lets see if I can pull this together :D
