Hi everyone!

I was wondering if it is possible to do it easily since want to use clover bootloader with it .

My guess is that the probook clover installer doesn't work with mountain lion . Therefore I will need to manually install the kexts and make the amd 7650 card not being recognized from the os.

Is there a simple guide to follow to use clover?

thanks a lot

DSDT patching process and kexts used for ML are the same as for Yosemite.

You may need to be careful with/tweak the patches in config.plist as the kext binaries are different, and the patches may not apply or may do something wrong. Test individually.

So in order to install mountain lion , I can follow the same guide as with clover and Yosemite here on this forum but the config.plist will need to change ?

Can I use also the clover PBI to install the kexts and patch DSDT since they are the same as with mountain lion ?

From the clover probook installer isn't the config.plist for Mountain Lion the only thing missing to make it work completely?

The config.plist may need changes. Be wary of patches to things like IOGraphicsFamily IOBluetoothFamily, WiFi kexts, etc. as they may be inappropriate for ML.

Once you patch DSDT you have it for booting all systems. It lives on the EFI partition which is shared.

Thanks for the respons RM

Unfortunately I don't know how to patch them , so I might just keep Yosemite . This seems like a difficult task .

The patches are in your config.plist at KernelAndKextPatches/KextsToPatch. You can disable them by changing the name so it won't match a kext. eg. IOGraphicsFamily -> #IOGraphicsFamily.

You can learn more about Clover here: http://clover-wiki.zetam.org/Home

Thanks RM. Yes I understand about that , I've used it to patch my Broadcom wifi/bt card (5ghz) . So if something doesn't work correctly I will need to change the name for example. The difficult part would be to find the correct value (hex) to correct with if for some reason the patch doesn't work in ML

Some of the patches that are used in Yosemite are not needed in ML. For example, WiFi whitelist (if you're affected) as not implemented in ML. And there was no boot glitch in ML. And handoff/hotspot isn't a feature of ML. Yes, you'd have to dig up the find/replace for things like 5Ghz.

Best to disable all patches, then do the research on modifying/re-enabling (if needed).

So to sum it up .

I use the same procedure to install mountain lion as with the clover guide with Yosemite.

I use the pbi clover edition to install the kexts and also the config and DSDT Patching .

I then open the clover configurator and see the new patches installed . I disable all of them and enable one by one to see if it works .

Is this correct or the installation with the pbi clover edition will fail ?

Will this new installation affect my dual booting with windows ?

Thanks a lot !

Best to do the research on each of the patch to find the equivalent for 10.8 instead of blindly trying patches that may be only for 10.10.

Note that 10.9 is very similar to 10.8.
