I'm confused by posts that seem to contradict one another...

Here:
http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2011/12/hackintoshing-sandy-bridge-laptop-hp.html

… it says:
With the launch of Mac OS X Lion, Intel's onboard HD 3000 graphics, integrated into all Sandy Bridge mobile CPUs, became fully compatible.

… but here:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/lion-laptop-support/22238-lion-laptop-users-read-first.html

… it says:
7) If you are trying to install on to a laptop that only has Intel HD Graphics, be aware that this GPU is not supported. It will only run at 1024x768 with NO graphics acceleration and you will not be able to run things like iTunes.

… and it says the same thing under the 'Mountain Lion Laptop Support' and that is dated 6 days ago (on August 20th):

I've spent quite a bit of time researching a purchase for a HP 4530s and I just now came upon this seeming discrepancy and it sort of stopped me in my tracks. Is Intel's onboard HD 3000 supported or not?

Thanks,
Rob

Yes, it's supported. HD Graphics and HD3000 are two independent things from each other.

Wonderful. Bad graphics is a deal breaker.

Thanks so much.
