is a pre-built MSI desktop compatible?

It's a MSI Codex.

Z170 chipset
Intel i5
DDR4
GeForce 1060.

I'm unsure about the mainboard, as this is a pre-built machine.

I've had a ton of trouble trying to get my system to work correctly:

-MSI Z170a Gaming M5
-Intel i7 6700K
-16 Gb DDR4
-1070

I could not get High Sierra to boot at all so I tried Sierra. Sierra will boot, but for the life of me I have not been able to get Nvidia Graphics to load correctly or get audio to work.

It's my understanding that MSI motherboards are just more of a PITA to get to work.
