IOUSBFamily did not receive enough extra current for the SuperSpeed device (Device Hub)... asked for

I've gotten the error in the title and tried to find workarounds on the forums but none seem to work.

I tried KextBeast with the GenericUSB kext. But that resulted in none of my USB 2.0 ports by the P/S port working or any SS USB3.0 ports working.

I also tried unplugging the power supply for 5min.

I tried resetting the pram in terminal with a sudo command.

None of these things worked.

This problem arose after I did a disk permission repair. It boot properly and I was able to get my GTX 970 installed and working. Adobe CC was functioning fine. Essentially the system was functioning normally.

It's Yosemite 10.10.1. I used Unibeast and Multibeast.

It still boots in -v -x mode however I am unable to fix the problem.

Any suggestions would help.

It now seems to boot with the bootflags -v -f

This is after I followed the kext install here

Suddenly I have the same problem with a Z77X-UD5H. I found something here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/mountain-...7x-ud5h-usb3-problem-under-ml.html#post439512, but the firmware update of the via VL810 hub to v9.6 did not help.

Perhaps your Z97 has also hubs which are responsible for that error?
