Right - it's a cute idea but not really practical for anything other than sending e-mails. Now if you could squeeze a micro ATX board in there and use a larger screen...

No need, the only problem would be the graphics card really, but there are a few options like this http://pden.zotac.com/index.php?page=sh ... t&Itemid=1 (9300 Nvidia graphics which is pretty much the same as the 9400 used in the MacBooks)
or http://pden.zotac.com/index.php?page=sh ... t&Itemid=1
or http://pden.zotac.com/index.php?page=sh ... t&Itemid=1 but both of these would require a graphics card to be fitted.

All are mini-itx and much more powerful than a stupid Atom board. Shame about the cost of some of those boards though http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLi ... therboards

Nice boards, but a bit cost prohibitive in the scope of a mod like that. Next thing we know someone will mod something odd like a rocking chair to run OS X.

If you rock forward it turns on! :geek:

I saw something similar done with an old Bondi iMac, but not something quite this old:

That is really cool- I love this comment:

Be sure to vote for me in the Dead Computer Contest, the Netbook prize would allow me to upgrade my 1984 Macintosh to being wireless, portable, and a 9inch screen to boot.
