I installed 10.11.1 on a Intel NUC DC3217IYE. Everything works fine but the graphics are very choppy at times. I did some poking around and saw that the display ram only comes up as 6 MB. I adjusted the DVMT in the bios to 128mb, but still no luck. The DC3217IYE uses an intel HD 4000 gpu. I am sure I am missing something simple.

Please put your specific NUC model, CPU model, and GPU model into the system configuration area on the left, and/or your signature. It's hard to give you good advice without having that information on hand on every post.

Then, I'm pretty sure "no kext loaded" in that screen shot means no graphics acceleration. You may need to set your ig-platform-id in config.plist. You can get the correct values here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/graphics/...0-hd4600-hd4000-hd3000-framebuffer-edits.html

I did mention the model NUC it is the DC3217IYE

Intel Core i3 3217U 1.8GHz with Intel QS77 Express Chipset
Intel HD Graphics 4000 Integrated by CPU

Sorry, I guess I was lucky, in my past builds I was able to install plain vanilla and everything worked fine (or at least they seemed to) :p

This is the first time I will need to edit the config.plist. I looked googled around and saw some guides but most seem advanced....can you recommend a beginners guide?

Once configured and working can I save the config.plist and pass it on to others with the same model nuc?

Thank you for all your help it is much appreciated!

Waltman: I have the same board you have. Which Intel HD4000/Capri patch script did you use a or b? I have installed b and it's still choppy. Video playback under Maverick is smoother.
