I have got a NUC i5 (Broadwell Gen) - NUC5i5RYK.

Installed OS X via Clover no problems, (No addational kernel arguments appended).

Its just the Graphics is not Hardware Accelerated atm. The Ethernet (inc Wifi) and Audio do not work either.

SMBios is set to Macbook Air 6,2 (but installed with a iMac smbios).

If anyone has any ideas or things I can do, so this machine can get supported, then please tell me :)

The wifi will never work. It is Intels own wireless chip and is not supported at all in OSX, you would probably be better off just disabling it in the visual bios.

A different smbios may help a little, although Im not that familiar with Clover.

Are you able to confirm which audio chip it is ? The previous NUC's had ALC283 but I haven't seen anything that confirms what is in the newer models.

Here's the DSDT I was able to pull from the NUC - NUC515RYH (fat NUC). Turned out to be easier than I thought. Just boot linux and it was just there at /sys/firmware/acpi/tables/DSDT. I created the cat output.
From this I'm thinking whether I'm overcomplicating the install of the OS X with too much stuff, since the previous poster was able to do a simple clover install.

Anyways, here's the DSDT. I'll work playing with this. If anyone wants to fiddle with it, please do and let us know what you find.

Did you have any problems with USB keyboards and mouse?

And if you don't mind, what is the full spec of your hardware? M.2 SATA or PCIe, etc.

Well, I would consider starting with something like this.

I've cleaned it up best I know how and got rid of all compiler errors, warnings and messages.

This wont help much with the install itself of course, but post install should help things along a bit.

There are posts starting to appear in the Intel forums about USB mice and keyboards not working. Seems to be some but not all; its also reported to be working just fine with these devices under OpenElec.

In a way this is not as bad as it sounds since Intel can easily fix this with a bios update.

Am I right in thinking your USB devices worked fine under Linux when you grabbed the DSDT ?

Yep. Worked without problems with Ubuntu 14.04 Desktop. Graphics was a problem, so I just switched to command line mode, but keyboard (and mouse) worked fine. So it must be just OS X.

Its possible the USB hardware ID's are just not in OSX yet. This is all very early stuff, both for Apple and the NUC. Time will see this improve Im sure.

what do you mean it's not in osx? can we just put a modified kext into osx?

also regarding the cleaned up dsdt file, am I correct in thinking I just put it into Unibeast's /Extra folder, or somewhere in /EFI in the case for clover install?

thanks again wonkey

I said the information is possibiy not in there. This is another area where work needs to be done, checking the hardware in detail, seeing what matches with the exisiting Apple hardware and what needs to be added.

I cant really do a lot of that myself since I dont have one of the new NUC's here; Im waiting for the new i7 model without the built in wifi since that best suits my needs; I also think it will be the most compatible model to hackintosh.

Looking at the hardware overall, I reckon once we get one of them up and running, it should be straight forward to adapt to the other models.
