Intel NUC 10 Frost Canyon

Has anyone solved the 4K issue? I'm running the Frost Canyon i5, and everything works great (even have Wifi working, albeit it's a bit slow and strangely implemented), except 4K. I'm using a USB-C to DisplayPort cable on an LG 4K Display (27UK650_600) and I'm only about to get 2560x1440 resolution. Apart from that issue, this machine has been near perfect and rock solid.

I think the issue is the i5-10210U processor, like the i7 models, Apple is not using them. The onboard iGPU is listed as "Intel® UHD Graphics for 10th Gen Intel® Processors" which again Apple is not using so there are no native display drivers for it.

I have a LG 27UL850-W and a NUC10i7. When outputting HDMI I can get a resolution of 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz.

Using a UNI USB-C to DisplayPort cable I can get a resolution of 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz.

My EFI folder is at Post #535.

Since he has an i5 your EFI upload may not work for him, that’s been the feedback from other i5 users trying the i7 configurations.

Interesting. With the i5, the GPU is being listed as Intel UHD Graphics 620. AFAIK, both the i5 and i7 use the same on chip GPU don't they?

Tried your EFI and it does enable 3840x2160 at 60hz. Thanks! Still need to run some more tests to make sure the CPU variance doesn't leave me with a hobbled system, but as far as the display does, that did the trick.

Yes they do at least if what intel has listed on their website is any indication, look up both CPUs. Also the Device Properties in either config.plist use the same information and then WEG interprets that and spits out Intel UHD Graphics 620 and is what is displayed in System Information or at least that is my understanding.

Using DP output disables sound output to the monitor. Digital-out (HDMI) doesn't produce sound over DP. I don't know how to fix that. I use HDMI to my monitor as 60Hz vs 30Hz doesn't affect me.

While your EFI config has improved the 4K situation, one area where I'm having trouble with it (vs my EFI which was masquerading as an iMac19,1) is with the services. I updated the config plist with values for SN/MLB/SystemUUID, but none of them work and every time I try to login to iCloud I get a non descriptive error (Verification Failed - an unknown error occurred).

Did you have any trouble with this machine config.plist getting your iServices to work? Apart from the SN/MLB/UUID values, is there some other value that needs to be set/changed?

If you are using OpenCore configurator to make those changes you may have added a second entry with your SYMBIOS information. Check using a plist editor
