Intel HD 530 only has 7MB of Graphics RAM

I can't boot when doing that. Maybe because I'm not using HDMI? I'm running Sierra on a Dell XPS 15 9550 with i7 6700HQ and gtx 960M.
 
gtx 960m is Nvidia, right? So you should install Nvidia drivers instead those for Intel HD 530 or I'm getting wrong?

There are currently no drivers available for the gtx 960M, unfortunately.
 
I am having the same problem but I am not sure what to do anymore I tried what had been posted but that didn't change anything. Here is my config plist incase you might need it.

Try attached? (rename from config-3.plist TO config.plist)
I put the other patch recommend by TonyMac

Try to set ig-platform-id to 0x1912B000
 
I tried both of them, unfortunately it didn't change anything
(sorry for the late reply had to work)
 
Same issue on SKL 530 1912 in Optiplex 3040

None of the patches make any difference on Sierra 10.12.1

EDIT
It was vital to upgrade to build 16B2657 from here

Now with ig-platform-id 19120000 in Clover 530 graphics work fine!

Hey, i'm following your progress with great interest.

can not get my OptiPlex 5040 to boot with video HD 530 working


7MB of vram
glitches
panic on 0x1912000, must use 0x19120006
tried DP and HDMI

would you mind sharing your config.plist since you succeeded on having the video card to fully work ?

ig-platform-id 0x19120006 is invalid. Only serves to disable the graphics drivers.

Note: Please DO NOT write duplicate posts.
