There quite a few topics about it already open, but most of them are sort of dead, and i don't think any of them congreate all knowledge consumed.
Here is the list of solutions I've been able to track done so far.
- install discrete video card

- install FakeSMC 4.2
- install Fan Control 1.2 daemon (or SMCping daemon)
- change VRAM size at bios
- change CPU voltage at bios
- patch HD 3000 kext to change VRAM total
- change RAM size
- disable kernel cache
- install IntelCpuMonitor kext
- install AppleHDA (Toledo)
- put Dock to the left
- replace video cable
- nothing helped so far

Installing discrete video card is the only solution that works for anyone so far. Unfortunately it is only available for desktops. I would be glad to buy laptop with discrete video card but i can't find any laptop that is
- easy to find for buying
- not larger than 15 inches
- runs on Quad Core CPU
- under $1000
- not using Nvidia Optimus (which is a deal breaker)

It would be nice to hear what solutions have actually worked for people, and how many people were able to solve the issue using each of them. Hopefully it will lead us to some new conclusions. Unfortunately poll only gives 10 options to fill, and we have 13 so far. New solutions are welcome :)

P.S. Please also leave comments what exactly did you do, and how long system been running stable after that. If it's been just a day or a week, chances are it might come back.

In my case /removing/ toleda's edited AppleHDA practically solved my problem. I'm using a cheap USB audio adapter now and the instances of artifacts and corruption has gone way down.
