Intel Hades Canyon NUC?

No. I don't have audio yet. It's ALC700. I think it is unique to the NUC. and I don't see any support threads. Do you have any suggestions on getting it working. Also, if I use VoodooHDA, it shows up all audio devices i.e. front/rear jack ports, HDMI ports, Mic etc but no actual audio output in any.

About audio in/out. It is my understanding there is no internal speaker in a NUC. Maybe the error comes from this missing component? Have you tried connecting an amplified speaker to the front jack?

Another idea: there are USB 3.0 and 2.0 internal headers inside. Can they be used to put a USB speaker in the case, which would be reported by macOS as such?

What baffled me however is that there are four internal microphones! Maybe this array is here to trigger virtual assistants like Cortana or Alexa? Would be great to have Siri available…

Realtek ALC700 replaces ALC233 in the Skull Canyon which was a stereo codec. The new ALC700 is an upgrade with features that lie between ALC892 and ALC662. It supports 7.1 digital output over optical/toslink and also supports analog output from the front and rear jacks.

FYI the driver was added to Linux by August 2018:

Can't believe it. It works <3. Thank you Rehabman. You always save the day. It is in a perfectly usable state for my workflow.
Here's my config.plist if someone else is also looking for it.

You don't have any glitches?

I do. Mostly in apps that use AppKit I think. And that too mostly around fonts. Maybe, openGL works fine but not Metal.

Same here. MTL problem, I think too.

Will require support to be added to AppleALC.kext.

I asked for this particular enhancement on github on the AppleALC repo, but a guy called "vandroiy2013" closed my edit without any remark 10 minutes after I submitted it: https://github.com/acidanthera/AppleALC/pull/340
As he didn't provide an email in hi personal profile, and github removed the private messaging system from their site, I couldn't even ask him why :(
