Was able to get this adapter in my closest electronics store and it works awesome. Really solid performance, and the tweak was easy to make with so clear instructions!

Confirming the original post instructions worked on my Dell T7500 and T5500 with Intel EXPI9301CTBLK ethernet adapters and running OSX 10.12.6 (Sierra). I disabled the onboard adapters in the BIOS just to be sure.

I bought another one of these when I put together my current machine two years back (IntelMausiEthernet had some shortcomings at the time). still rock solid.
