Hi all
As a I was shopping for a MacBook a friend of mine showed me his ASUS ZenBook 14 UX410UA-GV410T. It probably has a different reference in the US than here in France because I couldn’t find it on Amazon.com.
It has exactly the specs I need and that I don’t find among the MacBooks:
Main specs:
I never use WiFi (I keep my home in airport mode) so I don’t care if WiFi doesn’t work with Mac OS. For LAN purposes I could use something like a Cable Matters USB C Multiport Adapter (USB C Hub with DisplayPort 8K), 2X USB 2.0, Fast Ethernet or an equivalent.
It has no discreet GPU.
My monitor is a QHD so if I need to connect this laptop to it I would need to use the DP connection. There are USB-C to DP or I could use the adapter. Is there a chance it would work?
Is it reasonable to try to install Sierra or High Sierra on this laptop? Since I am not a nerd would it be a pain in the neck?
If I fail I could use it under Windows anyway.
TIA
Regards
Nick
