Hi, my name is Andrew. I´m running UniBeast - Mountain Lion 1.7.0 on a Os X 10.8.3. I´ve tryed several times to create my bootable USB, but I´ve got the same error message every single time: “Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance“.

The app file must be working fine since I´ve used it before to do a clean install on a friend´s IMac.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Andrew.

UniBeast has detected that your "Install OS X Mountain Lion.app" is incomplete.

You need to download it again from the Mac App Store.

Does the computer that you have downloaded this file to have to be able to have ML installed on it as well? I have a Mac Pro that has SL on it and It is not capable of having Lion or ML Put on it as it is too old.

Yes, checks are done on the hard ware to confirm compatibility before the download is allowed. There is a way around this for Mac Pro 1.1, but it requires you to download Mountain Lion onto a supported Hack/Mac first.

If you are interested in doing this on your Mac Pro, here is a link : http://www.jabbawok.net/?p=47

The other options now open to you is find someone who has a compatible Mac to let you get started with the USB thumb drive OR you will need to use a Snow Leopard Retail disc and use this installation method : http://www.tonymacx86.com/snow-leop...x-10-6-snow-leopard-ivy-bridge-based-pcs.html
