Solved: Installer authorization window disappearing.

I went to install the newest java update on my Yosemite system since photoshop would not update without a Java update, but when I go to install it the window asking for my password appears for a second and disappears. I tried this with another installer and the same behavior is occurring.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Any solutions? The search did not show up with any results.

Isn't Snow Leopard 10.6.0? According to the Java page here you need 10.7.3 and up:

I apoligize since my sidebar is wrong. Changing now. My first post says I am running Yosemite.

I fixed the problem it seems by installing a package with terminal using this command:

sudo installer -pkg /path/to/package.pkg -target /

Every other package now installs normally post the use of this command.
