Install question

Just a quick question.

I am buying new HW today.
I have a working x58 ud5 with SL installed.
My GPU is a apple branded 5770.

What are the chances that i can simply pull the sys HDD from the x58, and place it in the new Z77 Up5 th, and it will work?
Or will i fry the whole thing?

Ivy Bridge processors only work with ML, and probably when you would boot with the disk from the other computer, a big kernel panic would appear.

Clean install all the way.

Dropped it as well cause theres only 10.6.8 on that drive.
