Hi there ...

These are my specs :

  • Processor Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz
  • Memory 512.0 MB / 4.0 GB (max)
  • Hard Drive 40.0 GB - 7200.0 rpm
  • Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Professional
  • Optical Drive CD-ROM - IDE
  • Graphics Processor Intel Extreme Graphics 2 Dynamic Video Memory Technology 2.0
  • Graphics Controller Integrated
  • Monitor Type none.

I have upped the RAM to 4GB

I'd like to know if it's enough juice to get MAC OS ...
I don't care which version as long as I can run XCODE to compile Obj-C for iOS Dev or should I just buy a Mac Mini ?

There are so many guide to follow ... I saw in the bios ... I can ENABLE hyperthreading ... but I strongly believe this is a Single Core Unit.

Can I update to latest version which is 10.6.8 ?

To run 10.6.8 you will need the following

Compatible Sandy Bridge mother board and CPU

4 GB minimum of memory

SATA DVD - Sony Optiarc, Lite-on iHAS124-04 or an LG/Pioneer (not all models work)

You could probably build an Ivy Bridge system for the same money - perhaps less! You would need to use 10.8.3 - would that work with XCODE?

The other option is to buy a second hand / used Apple Mac
