Is your Unibeast USB installer drive plugged into the computer?

Looks like we both used the Maximus VI Extreme in our builds... cool.

yes it is , and we use the same board

I can't boot into os x without unibeast anyway , If i choose the HDD that contain the os x it just give me a black screen then going back to bios :(

if I boot from unibeast usb drive every thing working fine (sound, wifi, bluetooth and GPU card

I tried clover , chimera and from windows 8.1 a program called "easyBCD" but no luck

can any one help me to pass step 3 of this guide

Well I have scoured the internet and no way does my Win 8.1 computer let me get to the BIOS. Every suggested option I have tried. I have downloaded Ubuntu and it seems that I can boot off their USB OK by pressing repeatedly the enter button on boot. The same procedure, hitting the Enter key whilst booting does not work on the MAC OS USB. Looks like I can load up Ubuntu, and use that to reset the MBR etc and give me some boot choices. Then I should be able to install the Mac OS.

I hate Windows 8.1.

Hi, I just switched from my 280x to a GTX 780. Now I would like to have my extra folder back on my Main HD.
How can I reverse this operation here and make everything normal again?

Thank you guys!

I've re-run the procedure and I'm back to booting without the USB hard drive.

  •
I must have been booted into my DR clone of the system disk when I ran the Disk Utility. At any rate, be careful for this case or you'll be re-running the procedure.

  • :geek:
what do you mean of "procedure" ? is it doing this guide again ?

It means I followed the "Install Bootloader and Extra to EFI Partition" guide and got back to booting without the USB drive attached.

If you do a disk repair on your boot disk with Disk Utility (in my case a SSD), when booted from another drive (in this case my DR clone of my SSD), Disk Utility will "repair" your EFI partition and cause your rig not to boot. If that happens, you will need to follow the guide (aka the procedure) to make it boot properly again

pauls-MacBook-Pro:~ paul$ sudo fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0
Password:
fdisk: could not open MBR file /usr/standalone/i386/boot0: No such file or directory
Enter 'help' for information
fdisk: 1>
NICE GUIDE!
