Might be an issue with M1 Macs, I got crashes when trying to open pics in Messages for one, and when trying to update to beta2 I got a popup telling me I had to be an "Owner" to update.. and the only way around that one was to do it via Terminal.
But what made me say don't, was that I found it almost impossible to downgrade to Big Sur again. Booting to Recovery and restoring from Timemachine didn't work, it wouldn't let me.
Reinstall? nope, all I could choose was the beta.
So I made a bootable USB-stick with Big Sur on it, chose to boot from that and all I got was "This version of MacOS is too old..."
I think they've changed something in Recovery on the M1s?
The only thing I haven't tried by now is installing BS on a separate disk (on another machine) and try booting from that, erase the internal SSD and reinstall BS that way.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong here, wouldn't be surprised
, but I never had so much trouble on a hack
I think I'll just let it run Monterey, it's just too much hassle trying to downgrade
