If you want ALC888s to work, just install VoodooHDA-v2.7.4.r63.pkg. That makes everything work including HDMI and SPDIF.

This audio solution is ONLY for motherboards with the Realtek codec.

Your Z77X-UD3H has a VIA codec so the only solution for you is VooDooHDA.

MultiBeast documentation specifically says it patches DSDT with Layout-ID 1.
You can look at Toleda's guide and open the DSDT, and modify the DSDT yourself by using the txt patch file as a guide (use the FIND feature to locate where to edit DSDT).

Edit Patch file - TextEdit
1. TextEdit/Open Desktop/.….._hdmi_audio_dsdt_editing_kit/hdmi_audio_award….txt
2. TextEdit/Edit layout-id/01 to 02 or 03
3. TextEdit/Edit (_ADR, 0x….. - if necessary
4. Verify edits
5. Save

You can't as this is only for Realtek Codecs.

a. With DSDT - edit dsdt/HDEF/Layout-id to 0x02, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00
b. Without DSDT - Select your codec (ALC8xy) AND Optional 3 Port Audio
3. For 888s use, 888Legacy
4. Mute - not available on codecs 887_v100302 and 888_v100302 (no audio devices if enabled)
