Oh, and as for intermal mounting of the actual tray, I just drilled through the tray where the original short standoffs were, saving me a JB Weld job

How did you get the correct drilling points?

.......measure it. I do this a lot to map stuff out. Basically a pen and a ruler works well as a start. A pen and graph paper and a pin (to push through the graph paper and mark it for the standoffs underneath) is also a good way.

Well, I tried to be nice and accurate, but it didn't work too well ...

So I found larger drill bit and used a massive washer. Looks messy when the motherboards removed, but it's rock solid.
