After updating to 10.9.4 and only replacing audio drivers, I installed Chimera 3.0.1 bootloader along with FileNVRAM 1.1.3 (everybody said it is more compatible). Immediately I encountered an issue with iMessage, as it doesn't work normally no matter what I try. What I tried was:
  1. Resetting network settings by deleting config files
  2. Re-registering network devices
  3. Downgrading FileNVRAM 1.1.2
  4. Generating a new SMUUID (last time I tried it helped)
  5. Disabling every chat account but iMessage
  6. Changing Apple ID password
  7. Refreshing chameleon boot settings
  8. Refilling my SMBIOS characteristics (using Chameleon Wizard)
Nothing really worked for me, so I'm here, asking for help - does anybody have a similar issue, non-functional iMessage on 10.9.4? How did you solve it?

P.S.: iCloud works, iTunes works, App Store works – it's only iMessage that lacks ability to operate normally with Apple ID.

Nvram 1.1.2 is what did it for me

Do you have 10.9.4? I tried FileNVRAM 1.1.2 again, no luck :(

I'm experiencing the same thing. I've tried all of your above fixes, along with doing a clean install, changing credit card and still nothing. Anyone have a fix? My FaceTime was working and now it is not after swapping out the NVRAM to the most current. Strangely my iCloud seems to be functioning fine though, with the exception of these two apps.

The recent iMessage issues we're triggered by a glitch around the 8th Aug 2014

Please see my iMessage guide here :-

http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-help/110471-how-fix-imessage.html

Most people have found that iMessage can be resolved using the following method :-

  • Perform all of Step 4 from Part 1 of the guide including the 8th Aug Update
  • Clear NVRAM boot args using terminal command:- sudo nvram boot-args=""
  • Delete nvram.uuid.plist
  • Empty Trash
  • Reboot
This method should work for those using Chimera or Chameleon boot-loader

Cheers
Jay
