Hi Guys

I recently got an iMac6 24" which would randomly shutoff and was giving kernel errors. I read on several forums suggesting it may be due to bad capacitors so I opened it up and the board was covered in capacitor fluid all around the caps.

I had replaced 99% of the caps when on the last cap I realized that the last remaining cap does not match the one on the board. As I bought exact number of new caps I know something must have gotten mixed up.

If anyone can help me by pointing to a schematic of the board so I can double check the caps values on their locations or if you have a similar board you can let me know the values of caps I would very much appreciate your help.

Pic of the board is here. I have marked the caps i am not sure about.

oh boy, so far no help on this forum...@BeatlesFan5858 can you at least let me know any where else i can post this where i am more likely to get help?

well i solved it.my confusion was between a 1000uf 16v and a 1800uf 6.3v

i just removed all 4 and put in 4 2200uf 16v....problem solved. fired the board back up...works like a charm...

thanks....
