here I share my SSDT-X299-Vega56.aml adopted from kgp SSDT-X299-Vega64.aml for my Msi VEGA56 Air Boost OC with
PP_PhmSoftPowerPlayTable with these main parameters:
GPU max frequency 1663 Mhz
Memory HBM2 max frequency 900 Mhz
Fan Idle 1540 Rpm

This SSDT-X299-Vega56.aml is for my Gigabyte GA X299 UD4 PRO : SB_.PC02.BR2A but can be modified according to IOReg with other mobos.

BTW.. SSDT-X299-RX580.aml just became official part of my X299 System SSDT distribution. ;)

Thanks for the positive feedback, @Loloflatsix
This is awesome! Wow! @kgp and @Loloflatsix. Thanks for your hard work! Im going to try this right now! also @kgp I saw the USB Kexts for port limits on the X-299A thanks for those too. Should I take the plunge and upgrade to 10.14.1?

Ok just tried to load the SSDT by itself but it did not work. still shows the RX580 on slot 6 and no name for the Audio Device.. any advice?

Hi guys

as I am finalising my beast, I have a (maybe stupid) question:
My Sapphire Nitro + Vega 64 (not limited edition) reaches when I play games >90°C.
If I remove the PP-PHmSoftPowerPlayTable from my SSDT it keeps apr. 10°C colder.

Are those normal Temperatures?

Even though I want to install water cooling for the card, this will not happen before end of the year and I don't want to fry the card before that o_O

Thanks for helping and all the Best
Frank

Hi @kgp

Last steps of cleaning the mess and comparing with your ssd GitHub leads to another stupid question:
Is XOSI DSL still required?

All the Best
Frank

Yes, sir! My bad!

Section E.4) - USB configuration once more revised and modified!

btw.. the two USB 2.0 front panel connectors should be connect to the one and only internal USB2.0 header, which is also fully functional following my actual results.
Oh great thank you for the tip about the separate internal usb2.0 header that explains why I couldn't get it to work. I am currently using that header for the Bluetooth on the osxwifi pcie card. Are you using the built in Bluetooth for your setup to have the free usb2.0 header ?

No, actually I am using an internal USB2.0 hub..

Hi Folks

finally I am there and have now macOS 14.1 running on my beast.
Let me skip the long story how I ended up with the following System:

Case: Corsair 280x
Mobo: ASRock X299M extreme 4
CPU: i9-7920X @4.3 GHz, cooled with a alphacool eisbaer LT 240
RAM: 64GB GSKILL DDR4 3200
GPU: Sapphire Nitro+ Vega 64 (not limited edition) air-cooled

as displays I am running on 2 BENQ EW3270U

This is my first build after >20 years and (even though it can not be compared with @kgp masterpiece) I am kind of proud that I got it working.:)

This leads to a huge and capital THANK YOU to @kgp for the guide and all the patience he has with us.
I have to thank all the other contributors as well. All you guys rock. :headbang:

Now, how can I contribute? Not being a specialist like many of you I only can provide my EFI Folder so that some one who wants to use the X299M extreme 4 has an easier start. I have to admit that I have not yet started with thunderbolt implementation. This will follow after I got a water cooler for the Vega. Right now that one is blocking the only slot I have left o_O

Unfortunately I did not yet find a way to export the bios settings.
Never the less it is not to difficult setup as the MSI bios description in @kgp guide use very much the same naming as the ASRock. Just one hint: Do not miss to disable CSM!!!

Enough talk: Who ever might have a use for it, feel free. Whoever finds a mistake in my configs, please let me know.

All the Best
Frank

I guess you intended to refer to the implemented Gigabyte Designare EX BIOS description rather than to a non-existing MSI BIOS description. ;)

Congrats to your build anyway
