Hi Folks
finally I am there and have now macOS 14.1 running on my beast.
Let me skip the long story how I ended up with the following System:
Case: Corsair 280x
Mobo: ASRock X299M extreme 4
CPU: i9-7920X @4.3 GHz, cooled with a alphacool eisbaer LT 240
RAM: 64GB GSKILL DDR4 3200
GPU: Sapphire Nitro+ Vega 64 (not limited edition) air-cooled
as displays I am running on 2 BENQ EW3270U
This is my first build after >20 years and (even though it can not be compared with
@kgp masterpiece) I am kind of proud that I got it working.
This leads to a huge and capital THANK YOU to
@kgp for the guide and all the patience he has with us.
I have to thank all the other contributors as well. All you guys rock.
Now, how can I contribute? Not being a specialist like many of you I only can provide my EFI Folder so that some one who wants to use the X299M extreme 4 has an easier start. I have to admit that I have not yet started with thunderbolt implementation. This will follow after I got a water cooler for the Vega. Right now that one is blocking the only slot I have left
Unfortunately I did not yet find a way to export the bios settings.
Never the less it is not to difficult setup as the MSI bios description in
@kgp guide use very much the same naming as the ASRock. Just one hint: Do not miss to disable CSM!!!
Enough talk: Who ever might have a use for it, feel free. Whoever finds a mistake in my configs, please let me know.
All the Best
Frank
