    Yes, that is correct!

    I ordered mine from http://www.thebookyard.com/ for $58.

    I have experienced the problem you are describing, but on a Macbook Pro. It was a display cable that was not seated properly. But who knows, it can be many things.

    I just noticed I never got around to thanking you for the advice.
    I ordered a new panel for about 40 euros. I've been using it for about 2 months and it still works perfect.
    My lcd also shows colors when my mac mini is in sleep mode, so I routed the original on/off button to an Arduino Nano that toggles the 5v signal for the upconverter when the button is pressed. So I now turn it off when I don't use it.

    I couldn't fit my 2012 mac mini in there but I rerouted a DVD drive via USB to my mini.
