I went with all this hardware specifically for being able to game and possibly edit 4K footage in FCP. I've always wanted a MAC as well and wanted the beast specs versus trying to get Apple to make it. I wanted a mATX to save desk room and always had larger computers in the past. It's quiet with liquid cooling, and the ACX 2.0 on the graphics cards make them very quiet, nothing loud at all even when gaming and the graphics card is pumping. I do play Rocket League, WoW, CS:GO, Heroes of the Storm, and other titles all in 4k max settings with no issues. Nothing CRAZY, but all MAX settings. The ultra wide display is sharp, crispy, beautiful. It's great for pictures and gaming, the field of view is incredible. It can be ran at 75HZ even w/ a nvidia card by enabling freesync.

BIOS Settings
Load Defaults
XMP Profile 1
XHCI Hand-Off Enable
Serial Port Disable
VT-D Disable
OS - Set to Other
eRp Enable

Installation

Made the USB key with a MAC using Clover, also downloaded multibeast and nvidia drivers and placed on USB key after, the installation process did it verbatim as https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...ierra-on-any-supported-intel-based-pc.200564/, except I used my BIOs settings.

After the boot up I opened my multibeast and installed my ALC1150 and 100 drivers for audio (but it doesn't work on wake from sleep, see below), also I did not install Ethernet as I can't ever use it due to my computer location. However it does work as other people have checked in the box on MultiBeast w/ the same board.

Then I installed WebDrivers (alternate) and enabled them to true in the config.plist on the EFI partition, and rebooted. To mount EFI use EFI Mounter v3 from this website.

What works
Everything from sleeping to waking, audio when waking, and headphone jack in front of the case working as well for sensing even after wake (see below), bt/wifi (with no driver just works native), graphics (nvidia drivers), imessage (used the guide to fix), its all working and its great! To get sleeping waking correctly I used darkwake=0 and shut down fix.

Tips
Audio: If you do have issues with audio after sleeping there are plenty of guides helping fix this, also there is a seperate guide to correct headphone jack in front of the case sensing after awaking from sleep as well. Which is linked here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...sleep-on-alc-1150-codeccommander-kext.197498/. Remember to have the latest CodecCommander and edit the info.plist prior to installing the kext with kextbeast. This will give you audio when sleeping and waking and even the front port. Also I do use darkwake=0, and Shutdown Fix checked off in Clover Configurator.
Video: Make sure to use alternate drivers if you have this video card and follow the guide to edit your config.plist in your EFI to true at the bottom for WebDriver enable.
ALSO! Make sure to hide your wires well and make a clean build :)

ToDo
Clean my desk and wire tuck more. I was just excited to be done!

Hi

I have a very similar setup but with a Ga GTX970. My screen resolution on clover is not correct. Do you have a good one?
I didn't change my screen resolution in Clover as the big boot screen Apple didn't ever bother me. And I always put my computer to sleep; I rarely reboot so I never see it.

I re-did my fan positioning on my radiator, put them in front of the case like most people. Concept is to pull air through the front (room temp air), push it through the case out the exhaust top/back

So I bought two exhaust fans for the back:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002QVFN7G/?tag=tonymacx86com-20
And I bought some new quieter fans for the radiator:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C249PEO/?tag=tonymacx86com-20

Currently GPU runs hot 980TI, maybe 80-85C when gaming. The GPU underclocks itself automatically after 84C. Lets see what lower temps we can push!

added new fans and updated thread, no more GPU overheating, everything runs cool and within spec!

I don't have an option to disable CSM as I have OS set to other OS, that only shows up when I list Windows and such. But yeah personally I never really see my computer boot as I sleep it, and if I did restart I usually get up walk away for 10 seconds haha so I don't see anything until my login screen comes. As long as the OS is fully functional the BIOs being "big" and not 4k doesn't bother me.

imablackhat,

I have a nearly identical system... different case and peripherals, but same motherboard, graphics and wireless cards. When I use your BIOS settings, I get a boot error.
Where do you find the menu to disable the serial ports?

When you configured your system, did you have the monitor hooked up to the internal or the external graphics card?

Right now I have the monitor hooked to the internal graphics. I have installed the Nvidia web drivers and the are active. When I boot using the 980 ti, the screen goes full black after 3/4 of the apple load screen.

I'd really appreciate your thoughtful counsel.

Erik

Where do you find the menu to disable the serial ports?
It is in your motherboard manual - Page 32/33 :

Peripherals
. . . .
Super IO Configuration
Serial Port 1

Enables or disables the onboard serial port. (Default: Enabled)
