This blog is claiming it's gone!

A few people noting this here:

https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/downloading-sierra-from-the-app-store.232827/

So what am I to do as someone with El Capitan but wants to upgrade?

Instead of Sierra, as it seems gone, I have tried upgrading to High Sierra directly with clover on a clone drive, but problems avail. Basically, I've followed the guides here. Once I've launched the Install macOS High Sierra app, the system reboots and I can choose to boot from Install macOS on the clover screen. But then things fail. I get the Apple startup logo on a black screen indefinitely. Have tried rebooting a dozen times and I'll either get that or the no-entry sign. I've tried verbose mode, safe mode, and almost every other option and combination thereof in clover options. I've read that booting "without cache" and "inject kexts" but these options don't show in the clover options menu for me. Can anyone offer some advice on either getting Sierra or High Sierra working?

Look on your purchase history.

Look on your purchase history.

I would have had to have downloaded it at some point in the past for it to show there.

But even if I had, it won't be there. At least that is what all the news articles are saying.

For example, from the blog post I linked:

"Now that macOS High Sierra has launched, its predecessor, Sierra, is nowhere to be found. (...) It appears that updates for macOS are no longer tied to your Apple ID, which explains why Sierra and High Sierra don't show up in your Purchased tab. However, Sierra is also missing when you search for it in the Mac App Store."
