iBoot Lion Install - Does this wipe my hard drive?

I have lion installed on my hackintosh and it does not boot anymore, I have made an iBoot usb and can successfully get to the install menu. If I reinstall Lion will I lose all the contents of my hard drive?

Installing Lion over an existing Lion drive doesn't wipe the hard drive except when you do so in Disk Utility. But you should make a backup of any important data. You can't be sure enough.

Thanks, will make a copy of my hard drive with carbon copy before I reinstall then.
