Hey man!

Glad your machine is up and running!

I have a similar build, 8700k and the Gaming 7. My thunderbolt for UAD works intermittently. I'm using the GC Alpine. I find that if it isn't detected on startup I have to login to my Windows partition, see the two UAD devices (apollo and satellite) are present, restart into MacOS and it works fine. It happens every second time I boot up so would love to get it resolved!!

Any thoughts?

I did install the card in windows first.
Then I did all the bios settings.
If I turn on the Apollo before booting my machine everything works pretty well.
do you connect it before booting?

I´ll do a follow up update on my build.

Sometime I got some king of USB trouble. The hardware growler software showed intermittent connection and disconnection of a device. I unplugged everything, I tried to change the USB power in the bios, I installed a different version of the OS and it kept working.
Yesterday I had some time and I got the solution.
Using IORegistryExplorer I found out that the Built in Bluetooth of the AURUS 5 was making this on/off USB plug, and, since there´s no way to disable it in the BIOS, I added that device as a uia_exclude in the clover.

Now there are no more CPU spikes anymore.

I hope this is useful to anyone.

(just as a weird info: I made 3 of this very same computers. 2 in different recording studios. The only one with this issue was mine..)
