Hi. So I've done some tests between my old 3770 and my new 4790 CPU the i7 3770 seems to perform better would anyone have any ideas? it feels like I've wasted money on this system. When encoding video in Final Cut Pro it takes longer than my 3770. Any ideas guys? I have implemented Powermanagement also.

The comparison does indeed indicate that your 4790 should perform better than your 3770.
I have seen it said here many times that Cinebench is not a good app for benchmarking but the indications are that something is amiss.

Thanks for your reply mate. When even encoding Video in Final Cut Pro or Handbrake Intel Power Gadget shows just 3Ghz thats what i don't get.

This is what I'm getting on my i7 3770 Z77-DS3H decided to go back to it because the Z97 system doesn't seem to perform as good.

FWIW, here's my Cinebench on a 4790K, and a GA-Z87MX-D3H mobo (F7 bios) -- im running 4.6Ghz though, using 46x multiplier.

Just for reference, my i7 3770 (non K version) results:

I think that I was getting the 591 score when I was testing out the iMac14,2 system definition and the CPU didn't go in to turbo mode.

Should use iMac 13,2. You will get a better score. I think the issue is with Powermanagement but no point keeping a new system that doesn't perform as well as my old desktop.

Yes, I switched back to iMac13,2 and got improved scores and left it there.

I use iMac15,1 on my ASUS Z97I-Plus and got a CineBench of 875 and a Geekbench 3 64-bit of 17749.

I tried using iMac 15,1 but had issues with Black Screens most likely need the AGPM Fix. Ill just stick with my Z77-DS3H easier to run and maintain tbh.
