Setup:

i3570K @ 4,2Ghz / Z77X-U5DH / 16GB @ 1600Mhz / ML 10.8

Geekbench Scores:

64bit: 11500
32bit: 10500

The geekbench is actually about 500 points higher than under Windows 7, but it still seems a bit off somehow

MSRdumper:

PStatesReached: 16 17 18 19 20 42
CoreMulti(42)

HWmon shows me the frequencies of my 4 cores, all at 0Mhz and a CPU package multiplier at x4096

Any ideas/help on getting this right?

i'm using chimera 1.11 and macpro 3,1 sysdef

note: if i disable CPU EIST in the bios, about my mac shows the right frequency 4,2Ghz instead of 3,4Ghz

Something is not right. That's a very LOW score for someone running at 4.2Ghz (10,612 pts)

Heck, a stock 3.4Ghz 2600K will score 13,000+.
overclock to 4.3Ghz (15,400 pts)

About this Mac speed: This is just a cosmetic thing. If you want the actual speed, you need to use Chimera version 1.9 and above.

Yeah well that was in 32 bit mode actually, in 64bit mode its around 11500, but still not high enough. Btw i AM using chimera 1.11.....

That's too low indeed. I'm getting 12676 on an inferior system (32bit geekbench).

While geekbench is running, can you see your multiplier running at x42 in MSRDumper's console output?

An i7 Sandy bridge CPU is not "inferior" to an i5 Ivy Bridge.

Back on topic, I am having similar results with my i5. I have a thread regarding the OCing issues, but no response yet. I'll post as the information becomes available.

I am in the same boat, with my 3570k running at 4.6Ghz, my Geekbench score is only just over 13000. I was kind of expecting higher than that at this speed.
