A bit late, sorry, but just FYI the best single-width Nvidia graphics card for a Hack running High Sierra is the Pascal-architecture model GT1030 with DDR5 video RAM. It fits with no case mods into an Apex MI-008 and/or a Rosewill RS-MI-01 chassis, and consumes only 30 watts. Performance on a 17" monitor is shown below, running MacOS 10.13.6 Build 17G14020 with the appropriate nVidia driver. (The displayed "256MB" is wrong; it is a 2 GB card.)If you can install High Sierra then you can, at least, install a cheap NVidia GPU like the GT710 or GT730 and get full accleration.
