I've tried filevault the other day after finally managing to update Clover to 5119. In theory I have everything needed, all drivers and the preboot volume unhidden.
The encryption went well. I could see the preboot volume... and then this. It gets stuck at Start LoginWindow Initialize. You should not mind the longer lines, this screenshot was taken when I tried to boot from USB with every possible different set of files. They weren't there when booting from internal EFI.

Those are the drivers I have internally, but as I said I've tried multiple combinations through the USB. Same result.

ApfsDriverLoader.efi
AppleImageCodec.efi
AppleKeyAggregator.efi
AppleKeyFeeder.efi
AppleUITheme.efi
AptioInputFix.efi
AptioMemoryFix.efi
AudioDxe.efi
DataHubDxe.efi
FirmwareVolume.efi
FSInject.efi
HashServiceFix.efi
OpenRuntime.efi

In the end I had to decrypt through the recovery partition. Thanks god that worked...
I'm still looking for a solution though. I'd really like to have filevault. What do you think?
