Big news! The Gigabyte UEFI on the Z77 chipset works natively with OS X power management- you don't need a DSDT to wake/sleep, and no kernel panics on powermanagement whatsoever!!

Here's what I'm using for testing:

Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H

Realtek ALC887 Audio
Atheros GbE Ethernet
DVI-D, D-Sub, HDMI

(Swapped in for now, til the Ivy Bridge ones come out...)

What's working:
-The new Gigabyte UEFI is working with sleep/wake without a DSDT!!
-No kernel panic on power management
-Atheros ethernet working with driver from MultiBeast
-Realtek ALC 887 working with ALC8xxHDA/AppleHDA rollback, or toleda's 887 kext
-Gigabyte 3D UEFI Bios has similar look/feel to other AMI UEFIs
-HD 3000 graphics working fine through the Z77 chipset

So what you are saying is, I should upgrade to a Z77 from my Z68 that I just purchased 3 weeks ago.

Not at all- Ivy Bridge CPUs and hence Macs aren't even out yet- these won't be truly recommended until then.

What Tony said is very important!

Don't be in a hurry to fail! Let the Apple new products make it easy for us.

Is it 1th April? :p

I can't say anything. Tony, you are the man! :headbang:

So; just to be 100% crystal, this is accomplished without nullcpupowermanagement, right?

Yes. :D

I'm looking forward to Ivy Bridges. If they work like SB, it will be a very nice year for Hackintosh.
