Hi,

I'm trying to make this Huawei work.
This is the Notebook: Huawei Matebook D 14" Intel i5-8250U Issues

There are a bunch of things that don't work:
- Sleep when closing the lid doesn't work. Sleep with timer and "Sleep" through the Apple menu work.
- When I unplug HDMI external monitor cable at times I get a black screen on the internal monitor
- Brightness up/down keys don't work

Is there anybody with some experience that can help?
Thanks a lot!

Ok, so I fixed some issues.
Especially power management, display brightness using the keyboard and how the notebook behaves when you have the charger plugged.

These are the issues I still have:
- Sleep when closing the lid doesn't work. Sleep with timer and "Sleep" through the Apple menu work. If I close the lid after the notebook is already in sleep mode then wake from sleep works.
- When I unplug HDMI external monitor cable I get a black screen on the internal monitor. This is especially annoying.

Anyone can help?
Thanks!

Hi @desmomarco999
thanks for your reply!

I followed your instructions, got the apps, did what you suggested but that makes no difference.
As I unplug the internal screen goes black.

Do you have any other suggestion?
Thanks!

Related to sleep issue when closing the lid, what it happens in my case is... I think it goes to sleep.. but I have to close de lid and open it twice to wake up the system. Have you tried that?
Hi @conradolpz
thanks for your reply.

In my case as I close the lid and let the notebook go into sleep mode then there's no way to wake it.
Not through opening the lid as many times as you like nor using the power button. Using the power button wakes the keyboard but the screen stays switched off.

Do you have the same Notebook?
Can you share your EFI?

Thanks!

Ok...
I changed a Bios option about sleep and now like @conradolpz sais by double opening the lid I can wake the notebook from slip and put it to sleep by opening / closing the lid.
This is a step ahead...
AND if I plug/unplug HDMI port after sleep THEN I no longer get a black screen.
IF I plug /unplug prior to sleep I still get a black screen.

I'm almost there...

Mine doesn't!! :/
