But what I am worried about is the Error Unknown 60 and 69 that have been mentioned here!

any comments on that?

Its just a warning, not an error so it can be ignored but in case you want to dig into it, read the following,

As per philip_petev post (http://www.tonymacx86.com/network/98933-athr-unknown-locale-60-a.html#post603611)

"This card, DW1515, is probably taken from eBay, right? Most of the cards from China have set 0x60 region in their EEPROMs. If you want to get rid of this messages, I would recommend you to follow this tutorial (requires Windows) and see the second post, it contains important information about the regions. The tutorial works for all Atheros 92xx-based cards. "

Here is the tutorial.. http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-probook/97428-ar9280-athr-unknown-locale-xx-eeprom-mod.html

OR

I would suggest to look into the following link which is quite easy method,in case if you don't have prior experience in flushing ROM or don't want to take any risk.

I've have the Atheros 9280 (Dell Wireless 1515) purchased on eBay. Been working for a couple years no problem.

Set locale to 0x00. This is the way Apple wants it in their laptops WiFi. When it is not = 00, you get warning logged time-to-time in the console.

philip_petev warned to not use it :S

This is the whole point of this exercise. Laptop could be taken to any country/region. Laptops are slaves as well, because of laptop does not act as a server, it acts as a client, so you can have all frequencies enabled yet be absolutely compliant because of you connecting to compliant WiFi assess point channel, so your WiFi adapter will use correct frequencies. It is more of the issue for WiFi Access Points (provides service), than to WiFi clients (consumes service).

Got the point. Thanks for the clarification. So you are suggesting to set 0x00?

However the said Access points issue can be hectic issue of weak WiFi signals specially if you are living in a building where every apartment broadcasting wifi signals (my case). Thats why I always prefer to use wired connection (specifically for online gaming where precision is a must). What would you suggest for Wifi users in this case? I'm asking because it seems I have to be dependent on Wifi at my work place
