Dear all,
I'm an owner of a HP ProBook 4530s, i5, 4Gb RAM and 500Gb HD and I'd like to upgrade it (the max I could).

- I've already ordered a module of 4Gb in order to reach the 8Gb.
- I've already ordered a 480Gb SSD in order to replace the current HD.

I'd like to change the current CPU i5 with a new one i7.

Could you inform me please :
1) Where should I order/buy a new i7 CPU socket ?
2) Which model do you recommend me and why ?
3) Could I install the CPU by myself or it is not so simple (like RAM or HD replacement?)

PS. I use windows O/S (Win 7 and 8.1)

Thank you
George

Refer to the 4530s service/maintenance manual. It has all the information you need.

Dear rehabman,

I would appreciate if you or someone else, could answer all of my questions and give me its feedback in more details.

PS. I'll download the service manual and I'll take a look even i'm not a technician.

Thank you.
George

Yes, the service manual provided by HP is, in fact, "very detailed."

I can't answer your questions any better than HP's service manual already does.

All the more reason to read the service manual...
