HP ProBook 450 G4 Working

Status

What's Not Working . . .
Bluetooth
Connexant Audio (using VooDooHDA)
VooDooHDA HDMI Audio

Issues . . .
Shutdown only works when running on battery,
. . . On DC power it reboots.
On reboot often gets a POST error
. . . Says system time is invalid etc., etc.

Thanks for the info. I'm deciding what laptop to buy and I was wondering if you solved any of these issues on your 450 g4 since posting this.

my 450 g4 runs fine - follow the guide :)

No, I haven't bothered to see if it can be fixed.

As for the guide I'd like to here if you master it.

I've been on TonyMac for a long time, and I don't believe I've seen a more complicated proceedure.
It's not indicative of what TonyMac has been about, making Hackintosh easier.

It is actually easier than you might think.
It sounds like you haven't tried.

Thanks for the replies. I had seen the guide, but mactition wrote that the guide did not fix the problem he met with this computer.

BTW I'm glad to see that sgtmarzipan's probook is working :)

I've seen 450 g4 has many subversions: do you know if SSD version should work fine or it's easier to go with the normal SATA disk?

SATA HDD? People still use those as boot drives?
Seriously, get an SSD. Life is too short to wait for slow HDDs.

FWIW, I just set up a new HP ProBook G4 (i7-7500U / 1KD18UT#ABA) using RehabMan's referenced hot patch guide and I have most every thing working (ethernet, sound, volume and brightness keys, battery %, USB3, camera, BlueTooth, App Store, iMessage (using the "Fix iMessage" Guide), etc. The only major thing I don't have is wi-fi and that's because my compatible Broadcom wi-fi card has not yet been delivered (fortunately I had an old NetGear wireless bridge so that I didn't have to stay "tethered" to my router). It just takes careful reading of the guide.

I did add a 500GB M.2 (SATA) SSD to the stock laptop.

Thanks (again) RehabMan for all of the work you put into that guide.

Did you do anything in particular to get the camera to work? I'm getting

"No video capture devices were found."

under "Camera" and the info below is from "USB".

USB 3.0 Bus:
Host Controller Driver: AppleUSBXHCISPTLP
PCI Device ID: 0x9d2f
PCI Revision ID: 0x0021
PCI Vendor ID: 0x8086
