Ive picked up a HP NC360T Dual Gigabit Ethernet PCI-E x4. This card works out of the box with Apples Stock kexts no need to install any Kexts.

If you're looking for a card that works out of box without any Kexts installs then id recommend this card. I have noticed a lot of difference in speed from transferring files too and from the NAS. This is a great upgrade from my Realtek RTL8111E. Ive been wanting to upgrade from my Realtek RTL8111E PCI-E card for awhile now on my Z77-DS3H Desktop.

Update. There is a problem when copying large amounts of data across the network it cuts out.

Thanks for your reply. So I'm guessing that I've got to remove the Stock Apple Kext and replace it with the kext in attachments?

There is more to it than that.
The Small Tree drivers only work with Small Tree cards but they are the same Intel chipset.
You have to modify a plist if I recall correctly, it's all explained in the thread.

Update. Fixed the problem with Transfers cutting out. Removed AppleIntel8254XEthernet.kext replaced with AppleIntelE1000e.kext solved the problem. More information can be found on WonkeyDonkeys build. WonkeyDonkey's NAS/Small Server Build: Z87E-ITX - Core i7 4771 ...
