I just got this Elitebook to learn OSX on and I found through my research that this laptop only accepts a particular RAM module.

The module is a SK Hynix part number: HMT451B6AFR8A-PB and I found it on eBay for a whopping price of $50. DDR3L 4GB module cost on average of $20. I've tested the SK Hynix part and it works flawlessly.
