Use the OSXUpdateCombo to update to 10.8.2
After Installation, DO NOT RESTART

Copy in S_L_E, AppleACPIPlatform.kext, AppleHDA.kext and VoodooBattery.kext

Run kext Utility and rebuild the kernel cache

Now RESTART.

Note: You need to use cpus=1 at the boot time.

huh!

Maybe Rehabman can help. He has HP Probook.

Any lead on webcam issue. You said multiple instances of HP TrueVision HD webcam in ioreg, possibly a conflict?
Also when I first launch PhotoBooth it crashes. Then on the second run it would say "no connected camera".

i had installed 10.8.2 as u told but i still got KP

how to build kernel cache

the kp screenshot is attached.

No USB3 here. Mine was supposed to have it -- advertised in the specs on the website where I purchased. But I ended up getting 8GB instead of 4GB of RAM and no USB3. I'm actually glad I don't have USB3 now, seems like more of a hassle than it is worth. For high speed transfers, I just pop a drive in my caddy that fits in the DVD slot (don't need an optical drive).

I wonder if USB3 might be more of possibility to get working with Ivy based laptops, given that it is Intel chipset supported and might be understood natively by OS X kexts...

get kext utility here

Boot with "cpus=1 busratio=20 -v -f" without quotes.

Copy patched AppleACPIPlatform.kext, AppleHDA.kext in S_L_E. (Replace) (see my previous post)
Run kext utility.

next time boot with only "cpus=1" without quotes. Lapic patched kernel is not yet available for 10.8.2, hence, cpus=1.

Lucky You! You're right. USB 3.0 has not been useful until now.

Ivy bridge has native support for usb 3, so does macbook with ivy bridge.

Also, anyone on Mt Lion who got their multitouch gestures ( 2 finger scroll ) to work ?
Can they please share their kexts ?

copy the two kexts from attached zip file. Repair permissions with kext utility.
Restart, touchpad will work.
