I'm jumping on the HP 6300 i5 bandwagon. Got one of the $100 ones you posted. Thanks!

I ordered this GT 710 off of amazon. Do you know if this will be plug and play with Sierra? It says max resolution of 4096x2160 (Is this right?).

I can't wait for a fresh hackintosh...I never could get my old one upgraded past Yosemite!

Yes, the GT710 is natively supported on Sierra - no need to install web drivers. I using a GT 710 in my Hack as well

You could get that in Windows via an HDMI connection but it's not possible with macOS. It requires at least DP 1.2 which this card does not have. You could use a 1440P monitor and be able to use that with the GT710.

HP Pro 6300 SFF for sale at Newegg for $187.45 8GB of Ram - I5-3470 CPU - Windows 10 Pro pre-installed

These will work with Sierra just like the Elite 8300 SFF. Price is about the best you'll find for certified refurbished. You can buy a barebones 6300 Pro on Ebay and then all the other parts separately but in the end it will cost about the same as getting the full package like this one at Newegg. Don't forget your macOS Sierra compatible graphics card (low profile) to install as well.

I got everything installed and running. Easiest and cheapest Hackintosh I've ever done. Very fast too.

One problem is that my resolution is stuck at 1028x768 with my GT 710. I *think* I have all the correct settings in Multibeast and Clover, I've redone it several times and even installed the Nvidia web drivers but no go. It seems like the MacOS thinks a projector is attached instead of my 1080 monitor. Still searching for a solution to this.

***edit: got it working. I didn't really understand how Clover worked***

trs96,

Thank you so much for all the information. FedEx is delivering my 8300 w/i5 and Ups is dropping off the gt710 and usb audio today! All parts you and the others recommended. 1st time doing this type of install. Was to test and give to my wife then dual boot my games rig with sierra.

This weekend I will be using all of the links and how tos you and the other members provided for this model. Very excited. I just wanted to say thank you and I will post my issues here or should I use another section?

Thank you!

Would be best for you to post in the 8300 thread started by pastrychef. Then others following that guide can learn from your experiences too. https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...hine-hp-elite-8300-sff-i7-3770-gt-630.199712/ You can also start your own thread in Sierra Desktop support if you'd like to keep the focus just on your specific configuration. pastrychef uses a different CPU and GPU but the install is mostly the same.

Thank you! I am reading all 41 pages now on pastrychef's post.

How is your 320W PSU handling the GTX 950 ? Have you had any overheating problems with your CMT version when gaming ?
Are you generally happy with the HP desktop running macOS ?
