Hello ,

anybody with this laptop with Mojave ?

works nice on Sierra but can't boot Mojave :(

thanks

It has Intel HD 3000 graphics so it won’t work. High Sierra will still support it though.
Mojave HD 4000 and up only.

Using kexts from Sierra on Mojave is probably not a long term solution.
And there are probably things that don't work about it too...

Best to stick with High Sierra if you have HD3000.

Do you know why HD 3000+Mojave users install the HD 3000 kexts from Sierra instead of High Sierra?

No idea. Running old kexts like that does not really interest me. I don't think it is a way to stability.

Installing the HD3000 display driver kext from High Sierra allows very basic support of HD3000 in Mojave but there is no Metal 2 API support backed into that kext so there will be no HW acceleration of the UI and Apps updated to Mojave will only have basic display support.

This is no different to patching the HS Nvidia WebDrivers to work on Mojave .. yes you'll get a display in Mojave but it will be a frustrating and glitchy experience.

As Rehabman posted ... using kext's from a previous MacOS release is not recommended and will most likely result in instability and/or abnormal behaviour.

Best stick with High Sierra

In other words, no QE if you use HS kexts. Right?

Correct ... No Metal 2 API Support = No Acceleration
MacOS Mojave uses Metal 2 for rendering the OS UI / GUI
