Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my 10.8.5 Hackintosh to to Yosemite. I've got an i5 Macbook pro that's had various OSX on it but I've never had an App store Yosemite and so it's not available for me to downlaod from my 'purchases' in my apple account.

I've downloaded an official DMG from Apple at: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210717 but as it's not an '.app' file it doesn't work with Multibeast.

I'm on my third Macbook/pro and have an apple account but have no way of downloading a '.app' version of Yosemite.

What are my options?

1) How can I get an '.app' version of Yosemite
2) How can I install Yosemite using an official Apple DMG

I'm looking at running Pro Tools 11.3.2 on Yosemite on my Hack as my Macbook is running El Capitan which will not run PT11.3.2

Thanks for any help...

I'm guessing your mixing up Multibeast with Unibeast. Unibeast probably won't work even if you mount the InstallMacOSX.dmg open the .pkg click through the prompts and then leave the installer in Applications. It will still be missing some required parts of the complete Yosemite installer app.

There is something you can try with Terminal if you'd like to attempt it.

1. Double click the .dmg to mount it and you'll see the InstallMacOSX.pkg

2. Double click that and then click through the prompts that come up.
3. Then you should find the Yosemite app in Applications.

You'd need to leave the Yosemite app in Applications then follow the steps in Option 3 in the following article: https://www.macworld.com/article/23...otable-os-x-10-10-yosemite-install-drive.html

After you create the installer, then run a Clover package to install that to the EFI Partition. Not sure which one will work best so you'll have to experiment some. Find a User build with similar hardware to yours to figure out which EFI drivers will work for your system. https://www.tonymacx86.com/resources/categories/clover-builds.12/

I still haven't figured out how to do this either, I was actually going to try for Yosemite on my legacy hack, so I downloaded the Yosemite image from Apple. It's a shame they don't release it from the mac app store anymore. I tried unpackaging the .pkg file with the unarchiver, and that worked to get to "MacOSXInstall.dmg" but when I opened that I didn't see any Yosemite.app.
