How to upgrade from BIOS to UEFI on Gigabyte's 6-series motherboards

I had some trouble with my set up when I switched over to the Core i5 2500k processor. I believe it was remedied by the installation of a file called SSDT.aml. Is there anything I will need to do to get my system running with UEFI related to this?

Not working for me so far. I made up a bootable USB drive with FreeDOS. It boots and offers me to run freedos in safe mode with no extensions. I copied the extracted gigabyte BIOS files and copied them onto the USB drive. Then I boot from the USB and at the boot screen I choose the only option that will run FreeDOS from the USB drive. The command line for FreeDOS starts up and then what. The author of this guide says that everything is automatic from this point on. But I have nothing happening.
